League Rules

Both players spend time in the days before picking 12 pets, which will comprise their initial pool.

At the beginning of the pre-fight phase just before the actual match, both players reveal which 12 pets they have selected to each other by using pet-draft.com

Upon seeing their opponent's choices, each player may spend this time choosing 3 additional pets using pet-draft.com. This allows a player to have options for victory if they see something in their opponent's selection they had not accounted for. Each player now has 15 unique pets selected, from which they can build a team.

This ensures player-controlled balancing rather than blind picking.

Each player will follow a specific turn order to ban their opponent from using a pet and picking the next pet for their team. Please see Pick/Ban if you have questions about how this operates. Do not close the pet-draft.com website after you have a team of three pets as a (play a second match) option will later appear. Both Players now have a team consisting of 3 pets.

Now that both players have their teams of 3 pets they may choose which abilities each pet uses during their match. Matches will be held between two players during a time that is suitable and agreed upon by both parties. Both players agree to a location in-game either from our chosen list of suggestions in "Stages" or by choosing a location themselves. If the two players cannot agree on a location then Flip-a-Coin.

Players now let their Battle Pets do what they do best. Begin battle! A winner is decided from the best 3 out of 5 match wins. After each match the pool of choices is reset to 15 and each player begins the pick/ban system again on pet-draft.com by using the play another round option. At least 1 member of the competitors of a match must screen share the match over discord, so a staff member can record the match - or the player must be capable of recording or have the ability to record/upload the match on YouTube/similar website. If neither of these options is available - reschedule the match so a staff member is available.

Using the addon PetMastersLeagueLogs is required! These battle logs are important for the staff to be able to validate the match - keep in mind, the recording is not enough to validate the match, the staff needs both the recording and the battle logs!

If two players have an invalid match (due to bringing in improper teams, improper documentation, or [Similar]), and must replay their match (best 3 of 5), the replay may not be conducted within 18 hours from the invalidated match! Thus giving both players time to establish new strategies and not be hindered by any pre-existing knowledge of playbooks by their opponent. New draft rosters may be selected by both parties - do keep in mind the rules, de banned pet list and the banned ability list!

In Season 4, we are going to use affixes - these affixes will tell people what they may or may not do with the pet draft and/or battles.

If a player picks pets that are not allowed due to the affix, then the match will be invalidated, and needs to be rescheduled - please respect the rules and the affixes, or it can lead to a disqualification from the tournament!

The pets that are banned this season : Anomalus, Anubisath Idol, Arathi Chicken, Battie, Cobbleshell, Jingles, Lime RoboClucker, Living Sandling, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, Moon-Touched Netherwhelp, Sandkeep, Sir Shady Mrrgglton Junior, Teardrop Moth, Timeless Mechanical Dragonling, Violent Poultrid, Voidglower, and Umbral Amalgam.

Pets on the banned list may not be played in any capacity in the tournament. Playing any these pets will force players to do a re-match, or in worse case scenario the player who used the banned pets will be disqualified.

From Season 4 we will also have certain abilities banned instead of being restricted. In this way we could unban some pets too.

The abilities that are banned this season : Call Darkness, Sandstorm and Reaping Hook.

Besides banning pets and abilities like the rules above here, we also have put restrictions on certain abilities.

The restriction is : A player may have only 1 copy of this ability present on their final team after picks/bans, and ability selection.

The ability that is restricted from season 4 : Sunlight

In season 4, we have unbanned some more pets, giving them an opportunity to join the battle again. Just make sure when you pick these unbanned pets, that you keep the other rules in mind, okay?

The pet that was unbanned since season 3 : Dusky Dredwing Pup

The pets that are unbanned since season 4 : Void-Scarred Anubisath, Ichabod, Flotsam Harvester, Chip, and Qiraji Guardling.
