Legion Remix Pets
by Baldorax

Legion Remix has brought back a whole collection of old battle pets and a few new faces to the pet battle scene. In total we can get 5 new battle pets, 17 reruns (which for some of them where a pain to obtain but can now be bought easily with Bronze) and 3 vanity pets for our collectors out there.
With every expansion or event, pet battlers wonder the same thing: which ones are truly worth investing in?
In this review, I’ll go through every new and returning pet from Legion Remix, judging them from both a PVP and PVE perspective.
These evaluations are entirely based on my personal testing and experience in pet battles. My goal is not just to rate them, but to understand where they shine and where they fall short.
Enough for this introduction, let the pet review of Legion Remix’s pets begin !
New Pets

Tidbit
Good HP. Low attack. Good speed.
Source : Vendor
PVP : Might have a shot, given the right conditions. Bite and Bone Bite gives two decent options to adapt depending on your opponent (if you play with draft!), Howl always will be readable and not great in PVP, and with no actual big attack to back it up, kind of useless, but Phase Shift is always useful. Counterspell and Blast of Hatred give again two options to adapt dependint on your opponent. Overall this pet will probably lack damages, but it can help stall a little.
PVE : Lacks a big attack to really be useful, but its high speed and Counterspell can come in handy in some situations.

Morsel
Decent HP. Good attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor
PVP : Bite & Bone Bite are a decent duo of first skill, but just like Tidbit, Morsel will lack powerful attacks. Consume can help stall, Sludge Belch can poison, which is always good, but other pets just do it better. Howl isn’t very good without something big to back it up, and Fel Nova is a decent global attack, but yet again, other pets can just do it better. This pet is probably not going anywhere in PVP.
PVE : With all said just before, I don’t see this pet being really useful in PVE either.

Son of Goredome
High HP. Good attack. Very low speed.
Source : Vendor
PVP : Pretty much useless. Trumpet strike into Lumbering Charge is way too readable. Horn Attack will never stun because the pet is way too slow, Stampede is very weak in PVP battles as it locks you for 3 turns and is countered by sandstorm, which is the actual meta. Horn Gore is barely a decent attack and Trample is only useful against full fledged tanks.
PVE : Might have a shot against Critters, but I think you can find a better pet in any situation.

Fledgeling Warden's Companion
Decent HP. High attack. Decent speed, but Flying.
Source : Achievement
PVP : Call Darkness + Nocturnal Strike is a huge plus in the meta, so this pet can actually pull it off. Wit hits high attack and the fact it’s a flying pet (so it’ll outspeed most pets), this one can actually be a real good addition to any PVP team. Wind Burst and Quills are also very good first skills, which only adds to its value. Only downside : Nocturnal Strike can still miss under Darkness, because the game is poorly coded.
PVE : With all said just before, this pet can deal some serious damages against the right opponent. It’s definitely one I will keep an eye on.

Duskytooth Fel Snooter
Good HP. Low attack. High speed.
Source : Achievement
PVP : both its first skills can be countered by a single sandstorm, but this pet can shine against ones that rely on objects like turrets or traps. Sniff Out will wipe clean the battlefield, Healing Flame or Crouch will help tank and Fel Immolate will slowly your opponents HP. Given the right conditions, this pet can be useful, but it’s very easy to counter it.
PVE : I can’t see a battle where this one would be useful.
Rerun Pets

Hungering Claw
Good HP. Good attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : Tentacle Slap and Shadow Shock are very good first skills. Forboding Curse might not seem really useful on a pet that doesn’t have multi-attacks, but it can serve as a set-up and it also applies a 25% slow, which is always good. Alternatively, Curse of Doom still deals a lot of damages but is too readable. Finally, Spiked Skin can be good, but Call Darkness is always the right choice. This pet can be useful in some ways, but others can do its job better.
PVE : I’m pretty sure this pet can be used in some PVE battles, Curses that can set-up and Call Darkness are always useful.

Corgnelius
Decent HP. Decent attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Missions
PVP : Blazing Yip, Cute Face and Buried Treasure can make this pet a real pain to kill, but as long as the opponent has some mechanical attacks, Corgnelius will go down in the gutter pretty fast. It can deal quite a bit of damages with Superbark, but I don’t see this pet really be useful in PVP.
PVE : Puppy Parade can deal quite a lot with the right set-up, and also set-up for a Curse of Doom, so this pet can be useful in some ways in PVE, but some other will just do the job better.

Eye of Inquisition
Decent HP. Good attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : Focused Beams and Psychic Blast are both very good first skills, especially if you’re playing in an Arcane Storm team. Eyeblast and Drain Power are both very good options, slowing the ennemy or getting a buff in attack and reducing the opponent’s attack is very good. Interrupting Gaze has a very low chance of being useful as PVP is very focused on speed and this pet is not that fast. Dark Rebirth on the other end can be an insane match breaker if timed right, but it’s way too readable.
PVE : This pet might find its way in some battles, but it’s probably not the best anywhere.

firebat Pup
Decent HP. Good attack. Decent speed, but Flying.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Missions
PVP : Bite and Burn is a decent duo of first skills. Shriek is decent, it’s always good to reduce your opponents damages, but it lacks damages itself. Hawk Eye feels like a waste with no multi-attacks or big attacks. Paralyzing Venom can be useful as long as this pet has its Flying buff, but becomes a dead weight right after he loses it. Nocturnal Strike feels like a waste with no means to blind. This pet probably isn’t going anywhere in PVP because it wants to do everything and ends up doing nothing.
PVE : Same as PVP, I don’t see it going anywhere.

hateful Eye
Low HP, but magic. High attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Order Hall (Warlock)
PVP : Focused Beams is great, Eyeblast can allow Interrupting Gaze to work, and Drain Power can make this pet menacing in some way. Overall it will lack a powerful attack and endurance, it will die before being able to deal serious damages. But if played right, it can help deal with an annoying Flying pet.
PVE : Dark Rebirth might open some doors, but this pet is definitely not the first I’d go to.

nightmare Whelpling
Good HP. Good attack. Low speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : It’s a shame this pet is this slow, but Tail Sweep uses that and Call Darkness is always broken. Nightmare will add to the « You don’t heal » effect, so this pet is definitely a good choice against Sun teams and Fyrn. On the other hand, the opponent can just outspeed you and counter pretty much everything from this pet.
PVE : Might be useful if a PVE pet battle is focused on an opponents that heals itself a lot. Otherwise, I don’t really see it becoming useful.

Wyrmy Tunkins
Decent HP. Good attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Profession (Archaeology)
PVP : Corrosion, Dreadful Breath and Buuurp! is a delicious looking combo. But Jar of Smelly Liquid and Nether Gate can’t be overlooked either, reducing the speed of your opponent and then switching it, while dealing damages along the way is always nice. But its base speed being under 300, you will rarely be able to use Nether Gate without Jar of Smelly Liquid, which makes it less good than other pets. Also Punch can help deal with those annoying dragons. Can be useful in the right conditions.
PVE : Can be useful in the right conditions, but other pets will certainly do a better job.

Thistleleaf Adventurer
Good HP. Low attack. Good speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Paragon Box (Dreamweavers)
PVP : Can deal a little bit of damages and waste a bit of time to the opponent, might set-up something with Dazzling Dance. Overall this pet will lack damages, and will lose its utility if the opponent is faster, which will happen frequently in PVP.
PVE : Pretty much useless.

Rebellious Imp
Low HP. Good attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : Quite good as a first pet as it can switch for free, but you will always prefer his brother Fiendish Imp which is way faster and can exploit Nether Gate correctly in PVP.
PVE : Probably useless, might be useful against some low tier pet battles, but even then other pets will just be better than him.

scraps
Low HP. Good attack. Good speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Vendor
PVP : This pet can deal some good damages and lock a pet if your opponent does a mistake, but overall it’ll lack some big attacks and its HP pool is too low to really exploit Consume Corpse. This pet can be useful against Critters and Humanoids, but it will not be top tier in PVP.
PVE : Lacks some big damages, lacks set-up.

Orphaned Felbat
Low HP. Decent attack. High speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Paragon Box (Broken Shore, Legionfall)
PVP : Fel Immolate and Black Claw seems to be the way to go, even if Bite and Screech can give more burst. Paralyzing Venom is definitely a good thing with that speed start, it will waste your opponent’s turn and deal a little bit of damages. The problem is that this pet has no way to deal a lot of damages fast enough. In a war of attrition, it might be good, but maybe not enough against stallers.
PVE : The speed with Paralyzing Venom might come in handy against a fast opponent that one shots your first pet (hello Argus), and Black Claw can set-up some serious damages.

Ageless Bronze Drake
Decent HP. Decent attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : This pet just lacks damages. Its kit has just nothing to deal damages, only Devastate can do something, but it’s way too readable. It can stall a little with Ancient Blessing, Rewind time and Time stop, but it’s not that great because his HP pool is pretty low. Probably nothing to do with this one.
PVE : As said previously, nothing much to expect from this pet.

Bronze Proto-Whelp
Good HP. Good attack. Decent speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : If only this pet had more speed ! Sandstorm, Crystal Prison, Wing Buffet… this pet is a paradise of control and has the strongest attack of the game all in its kit, with also an option that can actually surprise anyone : Bend Time (that resets all the CD of your next pet swaped in). But it is all wasted by its low speed. Maybe with a set-up Dazzling Dance this pet can do something, but as it is, it’s just a waste of a good kit over a low stat.
PVE : There might be some uses to such a good kit.

Fel-Afflicted Skyfin
Decent HP. High attack. Low speed, but Flying.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : Exactly the same as Docile Skyfin, but Wild Winds becomes Fel Immolate. The difference is that this one has a low HP stat in comparison to its twin, traded for a higher attack stat. The problem is that it still has no big attack skill to use this high stat correctly, and with its HP reduced that much it’s too easy to down it to 50% HP and make it basically useless.
PVE : Other pets will pretty much always be better.

Docile Skyfin
Very high HP. Decent attack. Low speed, but Flying.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : Another Wing Buffet wasted by a low speed, thankfully this pet is Flying so it has a good speed as long as it’s over 50% HP, but the instant this pet loses 903 HP, it becomes practically useless. But 903 HP is a lot of HP, so there might be some conditions in which the Docile Skyfin can shine. I’d still prefer some other pet in pretty much any match tho.
PVE : Other pets will pretty much always be better.

Cross Gazer
Good HP. Good attack. Low speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Vendor
PVP : With such low speed, Tongue Lash, Interrupting Gaze and Nether Gate are basically useless. So you’d need a Dazzling Dance set-up, and even then, you might still not be fast enough. Weakness will allow you to use Nether Gate or Tongue Lash decently, and also reduce a lot of the damages taken, but you will always prefer a faster pet that can just naturally outspeed your opponent and force swap, or deal a lot of damages. This pet might have some rare opportunities to be useful.
PVE : Very low chance to ever see this one in a trainer pet battle.

Grasping Manifestation
Decent HP. Decent attack. Good speed.
Source : Vendor - in OG Legion : Drop
PVP : Tentacle Stab combined with Forboding Curse could deal some good overtime damages, but it’s a bit low. Illusionary Barrier makes it a good defensive pivot, and Grasp can actually help you gain a tempo advantage in the battle by locking your opponent’s pet in. There seems to actually be some ways to use this pet in PVP.
PVE : There’s better pets for most PVE battles, but Creeping Insanity and Illusionary Barrier can do a good job to set-up and switch.
Conclusion
Overall, Legion Remix adds some interesting pets to experiment with, though very few seem ready to reshape the current meta.
Some, like the Fledgeling Warden’s Companion or Nightmare Whelpling, clearly stand out thanks to strong synergies and high-impact abilities, while others feel like missed opportunities.
As always, the real fun in pet battling comes from testing, theorycrafting, and proving everyone wrong — so if you find a creative way to make one of these underdogs work, go for it!
As previously stated, this review simply reflects my own experience and understanding of the system, and I’d love to hear different takes or discoveries.
After all, pet battles are all about experimentation, adaptation, and surprise.
